Hi, I'm Jess! I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and will shortly be graduating with my B.F.A.in Musical Theater, with an Emphasis in Dance, from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. I discovered my passion for the performing arts the moment I stepped onto a stage at the age of two and a half. Growing up, I thrived off of a busy schedule-- which consisted of singing lessons, rehearsals, and dance classes. To make time for all of these activities, I was home-schooled up until Freshman year of high school! Homeschooling taught me independence, responsibility, and a whole lot of self-motivation. I competed on Fern Adair Conservatory's competitive dance team which had me basically living at the studio-- with four to five hours rehearsal every week night!
On the weekends, I performed with the Las Vegas Young Entertainers-- who traveled from venues around Las Vegas, all the way to the White House! When I wasn't performing, I was volunteering at nursing homes, food drives, and elementary schools with my mom and the Green Valley National Charity League. Which lead to the discovery of a major life goal: to travel and volunteer with charities around the world.
When I entered high school, I made the decision to attend Faith Conservatory of the Fine Arts, where I could continue to grow in an environment that would challenge and prepare me to audition for my dream school-- The Boston Conservatory. Fast forward 8 years to my senior year at the Boston Conservatory-- where I have devised solo and group compositions, transformed from a beginner to intermediate piano "plucker" with training in conducting and sight singing, performed Shakespeare while frolicking through the Fens, and have gained a work ethic that has ignited my passion and love for creating art --- as I continue to discover a new part of myself every single day. Every experience, technique, challenge has taught me perserverance -- allowing me to blossom into the human and artist I am proud to be today. Most important lesson of all? -- Never leave your La Duca's in the same room as a teething puppy.
When I'm not training at school, you'll find me either hiking a mountain somewhere or instructing at Barre3(Southend studio)! Take a peak around to see what I've been up to! Curious to know more about me? Check out the fun questions below!
